Turing Selected for Robot Foundation Model R&D Program (GENIAC), Advancing Physical Foundation Model Development and On-Vehicle E2E System Implementation for Fully Autonomous Driving

Turing, Inc. (Headquarters: Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Issei Yamamoto; hereinafter “Turing”) announces that it has been selected for the “Post-5G Information and Communication System Infrastructure Strengthening R&D Program / Robot Foundation Model Research and Development (GENIAC)” (hereinafter “the Program”), promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

Through the Program, Turing will advance the development of a physical foundation model for fully autonomous driving and the implementation of an on-vehicle End-to-End (“E2E”) autonomous driving system.

This marks Turing’s fourth selection for the program, following the 1st cohort announced in February 2024, the 2nd cohort announced in October 2024, and the 3rd cohort announced in July 2025.

About GENIAC

　GENIAC (Generative AI Accelerator Challenge) is a program jointly administered by METI and NEDO aimed at strengthening Japan’s domestic generative AI development capabilities. The program primarily supports the development of foundation models—the core technology behind generative AI—through the provision of computational resources, as well as demonstration research supporting the utilization of data and AI.
