Turing Introduces an Employment Program for Exceptionally Talented Students to Work While Enrolled in SchoolFour students from the University of Tokyo and Kisarazu National College of Technology join the company
Turing Inc. (Kashiwa City, Chiba; CEO: Issei Yamamoto; hereinafter referred to as “Turing”) is set to launch the “Next Core Program” in November 2022, which will allow exceptionally talented student engineers to work as “Next Core Student Employees.” This initiative will support students whose capabilities exceed traditional educational frameworks, including providing support for re-enrollment after academic leave and encouragement to participate in external programs.
Background of Next Core Student Employee Recruitment
Turing is involved in the research and development of machine learning, software, circuit fabrication, mechanical design, and related areas to develop and sell autonomous driving vehicles. The company has always welcomed student engineers from universities and technical colleges, and their new “Next Core Program” will respect individual diversity and enrich future career development.
What is the Next Core Program?
This program targets young engineers poised to become the core personnel of the next generation. Students selected as Next Core Student Employees will receive the same treatment and authority as full-time employees and will engage in AI and autonomous vehicle development. The program offers options to work reduced hours, three or four days per week, encouraging participation in university programs and open-source projects to support multiple future career paths.
Trial operations of this system have already been conducted within the company, with several engineers from universities and technical colleges utilizing the Next Core Program.
A fourth-year male student from the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Engineering joined in April, working five days a week, specializing in the AI machine learning area.
A second-year male student from Kisarazu National College of Technology joined in October, working four days a week, specializing in software development.
