Turing Raises ¥15.3 Billion in Series A First CloseAccelerating Tech Development and Business Expansion Toward Full Autonomy
Turing Inc. (Headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo; CEO: Issei Yamamoto; hereinafter “Turing”) has raised ¥9.77 billion through the issuance of 1x non-participating preferred shares in its Series A first close. The round was co-led by JIC Venture Growth Investments, a government-backed fund, and Global Brain Corporation, an independent venture capital firm. Additional investors include GMO Internet Group, Inc., DENSO CORPORATION, and several other strategic partners, venture capital firms, and corporate venture capital arms of major financial institutions.
Turing also secured ¥5.5 billion in syndicated loans arranged by Mizuho Bank, Ltd., bringing the total amount raised in this first close to ¥15.27 billion.
This funding will allow Turing to accelerate core technology development and go-to-market efforts for fully autonomous driving systems.
Turing is a startup committed to the development of fully autonomous driving systems. The company is developing an End-to-End (E2E) autonomous driving AI and a large-scale foundation model capable of understanding human social norms, background knowledge, and contextual information. Integrating these technologies will allow Turing to reach their goal of fully autonomous driving.
The funds raised in this round will be used to expand the company’s computing infrastructure, strengthen its organizational foundation for social deployment, and to recruit talent.
Turing will continue to expand their research and business execution capabilities to achieve fully autonomous driving systems from Japan.
