Turing Establishes Their First Vehicle Production Facility “Turing Kashiwa Nova Factory” in Kashiwa City, ChibaPlans to manufacture and sell 100 autonomous EVs by 2025

Turing Inc. (Kashiwa City, Chiba; CEO: Issei Yamamoto; hereinafter referred to as “Turing”) has established its first vehicle production site, “Turing Kashiwa Nova Factory.” This new facility will serve as the both the R&D and production center for the company’s first 100 in-house manufactured autonomous EVs, planned for 2025.
The facility’s establishment follows a successful contract signing for their first product for end users, “THE FIRST TURING CAR,” which sold out within two weeks of its release in January 2023. The new site will commence operations in early May, accelerating mass production efforts for autonomous EVs.

Turing previously conducted vehicle development and data collection at the KOIL MOBILITY FIELD in the Kashiwa-no-ha Smart City Innovation Campus area. “Turing Kashiwa Nova Factory” will be their production base for their first in-house 100 autonomous EV vehicles. It will also serve as a research and development center, where vehicles can be safely disassembled, studied, and reassembled to build manufacturing capability.

Located in Kashiwa City, “Turing Kashiwa Nova Factory” is conveniently accessible from the Joban Motorway Kashiwa Interchange. The facility’s goal is to produce 100 vehicles by 2025 and 10,000 autonomous EV vehicles by 2030.

About the Name “Turing Kashiwa Nova Factory”

The term “Nova,” meaning “new star” in astronomy, is derived from the Latin word for “new,” which is also a root word for “innovation.” The name reflects Turing’s aspiration to lay the foundation for grand innovations in fully autonomous driving, create new technologies and values from Kashiwa to send to the rest of Japan and the world, and to establish themselves as a complete car manufacturer.
