Turing Launches Sales of “THE FIRST TURING CAR” Equipped with Proprietary AI Autonomous Driving Features

Turing Inc. (Kashiwa City, Chiba; CEO: Issei Yamamoto; hereinafter referred to as “Turing”) is selling “THE FIRST TURING CAR” equipped with the company’s original emblem and their proprietary AI autonomous driving system as a “one-unit-only” exclusive offer.

“THE FIRST TURING CAR” is based on the Lexus RX450h. It marks the company’s first product available for sale to end users.

About Turing’s AI Autonomous Driving Features

Traditional autonomous or assisted driving technologies control movement via sensors and detailed 3D data of the surrounding environment. In contrast, Turing’s AI autonomous driving feature operates similarly to how a human would drive, through observation and decision. The system doesn’t rely on special sensors, instead using a camera mounted on the windshield to detect road markings and other vehicles, which the AI then interprets to control the vehicle. This technology has evolved through various demonstrations, including a long-distance drive around Hokkaido last October.

※Turing’s goal is to eventually achieve “full autonomous driving” without restrictions on area or conditions, where the system fully controls the vehicle. The current AI driving features are designed primarily to assist the driver.

About the Emblem

Turing created an original emblem for the launch of “THE FIRST TURING CAR.”

The emblem embodies the hope that “just as a crane causes ripples as it lands on water, this car will make significant waves in the global automotive industry” and that “both software and hardware will serve as the wings that create a fully autonomous vehicle.”

Comment from Shunsuke Aoki, Co-Founder and CTO of Turing

“Turing’s goal is to become a full-fledged car manufacturer. “THE FIRST TURING CAR” is a significant step towards our goals of producing 100 vehicles by 2025 and 10,000 vehicles by 2030. This one-off sale is crucial for us, and we invite anyone interested to contact us.”
